We always believed that there had to be a better way of helping mothers to keep their families together. Too often in trying to keep families together, actions are taken after the family unit has broken down. And with this in mind, the approach adopted at our women’s center has evolved and changed. We’ve adopted a different path and one which is highly proactive. And we would love to show you what it is all about. Our Empowering Mothers 1 day event, is an uplifting day spent with an inspirational group of Kenyan women. The centers aim is to help young mothers recover from illness, to recover their strength, to give them new life and vocational skills to help them establish their own small businesses. And visitors can have a look at the heartbeat of this operation. Our One Horizon Women’s Empowerment Center is a hive of activity as the women are busy making candles, jewelry, clothes, curios and studying small business. The skills learned in this 18 month program and the micro finance scheme we set up will enable them to start their own small businesses. As you connect with the women they’ll share their stories and give you deep insights into Kenyan culture, traditions and extended family relationships. You will be enthralled.
