At the last Maasai clan gathering we attended, it brought together over 3000 members! During the meeting, a guest asked the elder about the cultural significance of the event. To our surprise, he explained that the gathering is actually more practical: “We meet every two years to get to know all branches of the family. This wisdom is fundamental to preventing marriages between relatives! The connection and love among community members are palpable, and it’s incredible to see how much they value family.
